Hi friends,

My name is Kayla McKenzie. I'm a wife to a wonderful man named Patrick. We've been together for almost 7 years and have the most perfect baby boy in the world, named Wilder. We also share our home with 2 beautiful fur babies, named Zeus and Dixie.

I was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi and moved to the Denham Springs area at the beginning of 2020. My life has been blessing after blessing after blessing. And I will never be able to thank God for all he's done for me and my little family.

I've always loved to take photos. But it took me a long time to understand not everything has to be perfectly posed. In March 2021, days before our first wedding anniversary, and 7 months pregnant, I lost my absolute best friend, my father, to Covid. My world turned upside down and I had never known loss like what I felt. Daddies aren't supposed to break their daughters' hearts. I fully believe God has a reason for every single thing we go through in life, although we might not understand it until we're reunited with our loved ones in a greater place...

Through the tears, as I began looking through every single photo I could lay my hands on or scroll through, I saw the ones I loved most were those caught candid.

Above is one of my favorite candid photos of me and my father, captured by the amazing Sarah Miller Photography A moment before I walked down the aisle, he requested a selfie with his "little princess".

The biggest advice I can give to anyone is to take the picture. Although it might not be perfect, capture the moment.

Make the memory.

Welcome to Candid Wild Photography.

“Art is what we call...the thing an artist does.

It's not the medium or the oil or the price or whether it hangs on a wall or you eat it. What matters, what makes it art, is that the person who made it overcame the resistance, ignored the voice of doubt and made something worth making. Something risky. Something human.

Art is not in the ...eye of the beholder. It's in the soul of the artist.”
